About Cheese
Cheese is made from milk obtained from cow, buffalo, goat, and sheep. Ten pounds of milk is used to prepare one pound of cheese. The taste and texture of cheese vary depending on the source of milk and age of cheese. Rennet is added in most of the cheese produced. Cheese is a very good source of protein, calcium, and phosphorous and is also beneficial in preventing tooth decay. In the early ages, cheese was a popular war time and travel food because of its portability and long shelf life.
