About HDTV
The HDTV is a next generation television equipped with better resolution and high quality display. It is based on a digital broadcasting format that transmits a widescreen display, enlarged and clear image, better sound quality and projections. According to the EIA, high definition in TV can be measured by the resolution of the picture or the number of horizontal and vertical lines scanned on the TV screen. The NTSC has defined the minimum standard for television to be called HDTV. The following are the minimum attributes for HDTV:
• 1080i- 1920X1080i (1080 interlaced)
• 720p- 1280X720p (720 progressive)
HDTV provides more clarity and sharpness than standard definition television.
