Summary
The summer weather was not as favorable as in 2014. Sales of carbonated packaged water, carbonates, juice, nectars and still drinks were all down in the key summer months. The subsequent rise in hot drinks was not enough to offset these losses and commercial beverages dropped overall between July and September. There was, however, an encouraging export-driven jump in GDP in the second quarter.
Key Findings
Commercial beverages were down year on year, as the cool summer shaped demand
Juice consumption fell back again during the quarter
Hot drinks consumption was helped by the colder conditions
The low calorie segment was in growth due to the health and wellness trend
