Summary
Chubu Electric Power Co Inc. (CHUEF) is planning to build a power plant in Taketoyo, Chita District, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

The project involves the construction of a 1,070MW coal-fired power plant. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation, and water cooling units, access roads and related infrastructure, the installation of generators and transformers, the laying of transmission lines, and the demolition of a 220MW and three 375MW oil-fired power plants.

On February 6, 2015, CHUEF submitted preliminary development plans to the Taketoyo Town Council.

In May 2017, Chubu awarded Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI) in partnership with Clyde Bergemann supply contract for DRYCON technology.

The project is waiting for environmental approvals. Construction work is scheduled to complete by March 2022.
