Summary
Ferrostaal AG (Ferrostaal) is planning to undertake the petrochemical plant project in Tangguh, West Papua, Indonesia.

The project involves the construction of a petrochemical plant with a production capacity of 1.3 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) of methanol, and 200,000MTPA of dimethyl ether (DME).

It includes the construction of storage tanks, parking spaces, an administrative office and related facilities and the installation of fire fighting system.

Ferrostaal AG will acquire gas from the Tangguh LNG plant to support the operation.

In January 2012, Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions (AGES), a German technology and construction company, was awarded the construction contract.

On January 21, 2017, Ferrostaal and PT Pupuk Indonesia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to carry out a study to develop the petrochemical plant.
