Transmission is a key function of vehicle powertrain and is a type of gearbox that transfers the power generated from an internal combustion engine to the wheel axle. An automotive transmission includes the entire drivetrain comprising various components such as a clutch, prop shaft, gearbox, drive shafts, and differentials among others. Currently, different types of transmission systems are used in vehicles that include manual transmission (MT), AT, continuously variable transmission (CVT), and dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
