In an OLED, the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compounds, which is responsible for the emission of light on application of electricity. OLEDs are used to create digital displays in various electronic applications such as TV screens, PC monitors, mobile phones, and gaming consoles. OLED lights can display deeper black levels on screens and are lighter and thinner than LED lights. An OLED light achieves a higher contrast ratio than a LED light in low ambient light conditions such as in dark rooms. As OLED production lines are still small, costs of OLED production are high. The automotive OLED market is at a dormant stage currently, and it would require several years to develop and become mature.
