About Cable Tester
Cable testers are hand-held devices used to check the strength of the electrical or electronic signal travelling through a cable. The device is used to test the source of current as well as the load attached to the tester. The device also measures various parameters such as the current/ voltage loss, the power factor, and the voltage standing wave ratio. In certain applications, the cable tester is also used to analyze not just the cable but the passive payload attached to the cable as well. The report has therefore considered such cable testers that are capable of providing feedback regarding the load attached as well. Cable testers also examine the cables that are physically connected within a LAN architecture. Many network integrators have found that cable failures cause 65% of the LAN downtimes.
