A distribution transformer is used in the electric distribution system to step down the high voltage to a lower level so that the end-users such as Industrial, Commercial, as well as Household sectors can consume the distribution conveniently. Since 2007, the department of electricity regulates the energy efficiency level of low-voltage dry-type distribution transformers. The regulations were imposed by the same on liquid-immersed and medium-voltage dry-type distribution transformers as well from 2010. Sometimes a distribution transformer is designed and constructed in a way that it is mounted on a utility pole during installation. It is then known as pole-mount transformer. The other ones, which are installed on a concrete base, at the ground level are known as pad-mount transformer.
