About In-built Storage Set-top Boxes
STBs are used to improve picture quality, store videos, and to enhance the viewing experience. They also provide interactive services such as video-on-demand, and the freedom to pay only for specific channels. STBs, when attached to a TV, receive unencrypted subscribed channels through an addressable system for viewing encrypted channels. They connect a TV to an external signal source and convert the transmitted signal into video content, which is then displayed on the screen.
STBs can convert both analog and digital signals into visuals. There are of four primary types of STBs:

Satellite
Internet protocol television (IPTV)
Hybrid
