Summary
The government of Gambia (GoG) is undertaking the Lamin Koto to Passimas road development project in Gambia.

The project involves the construction of a 122km road. It includes the construction service roads, bridges, upgrading of the road to a full pavement of a length of about 122km, 7m width of carriageway (with addition bus stops inside the towns) and 1.5m shoulder from both sides, as well as improvement of the horizontal and vertical design criteria of the road alignment to suit a design speed of 60-100km/hr and related infrastructure, and the installation of signaling and safety systems.

In December 2011, feasibility study and detailed design activities were completed.

On October 18, 2013, the feasibility study and detailed design for the project were updated to reassess its economic viability and reflect current rates.

The Ministry of Works (MoW) through the National Roads Authority is currently in the process of recruiting a consultant and also raising funds for the project.

In July 2015, GoG signed an agreement for securing US$56 million funds from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, (ADFD)

As of July 2016, Arezki S. A , CCC Group Inc, CSE Engineering Consultants have been shortlisted for the construction of the road. However, the contract was not awarded.

In November 2016, a US$61.9 million construction contract awarded to Arezki S. A.

In fourth quarter of 2016, construction works commenced.
