Summary
Ministère du Développement durable et des Infrastructures Luxembourg (MDDIL) is undertaking the expansion of the European Court of Justice in Kirchberg, Luxembourg.

The project involves the construction of a 110m-high court building, court rooms, office facilities to accommodate 750 employees, training rooms, meeting rooms, a cafeteria, a restaurant, a health center, an underground parking facility for 220 vehicles, access roads and the installation of power-related facilities.

In February 2013, The Government of Luxembourg and Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) signed a framework agreement for the project’s development.

The study and design contract was awarded to Dominique Perrault Architecture in October 2013.

The feasibility studies were completed in July 2014.

The project secured construction approvals in November 2015.

In the first quarter of 2016, the construction contract was awarded to Baatz Constructions Exploitation Sàrl and Tralux SA.

In March 2016, construction works commenced and scheduled to complete in July 2019.
