Summary
The Ministry of Transportation (MoT), Indonesia is undertaking the construction of an LRT system in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The project involves the construction of an 81.8km LRT system and will be developed in two phases.

The first phase includes the construction of a 42.1km LRT system comprising three tracks, including a 13.7km track from Cibubur to Cawang, 10.5km track from Cawang to Dukuh and a 17.9km line from Bekasi Timur to Cawang.

The second phase includes the construction of 38.5km of tracks covering Cibubur-Bogor, Dukuh Atas-Palmerah Senayan and Palmerah-Grogol.

The project includes the construction of foot over bridges, stations, platforms, administrative space and related infrastructure, the installation of signaling and safety systems, and the laying of tracks.

SYSTRA, ITS Kemitraan and LAPI ITB have been appointed as consulting engineers and Freyssinet SAS as equipment supply contractor for the first phase of the project.

In September 2015, PT Adhi Karya (Adhi), a state construction company, was appointed as the contractor to develop the project.

Adhi will develop the project in collaboration with eight state companies: PT Jasa Marga Tbk, Perum PPD, PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI), Perum Bulog, PT Bank BNI Tbk, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, PT Bank BRI Tbk and PT Bank BTN Tbk.

On September 9, 2015, MoT broke ground on the project.

On February 2, 2017, Hyundai Rotem Co. appointed as rolling stock supply contractor for the first phase of the project. Hyundai Rotem will work with Woojin Industrial Systems for the supply of eight two-car train sets.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has been appointed as an associate developer for the project.

In July 2017, The project secured US$150.2 million funds and KAI is in the process of arranging the syndicated loan for the project.

In November 2017, Korea Rail Network Authority (KRNA), is ready to fund Jakarta LRT phase 2 of US$ 550 million.

Construction activities are underway in the first phase and scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2019.
