Summary
Nalanda University (Nalanda) is undertaking the construction of a university campus in Rajgir, Bihar, India.

The project involves the construction of a 117,400m2 university campus in 184ha of land. The entire campus is planned to be constructed in two phases. The non-residential buildings on the campus constitute a major part of the university's first phase construction. The second phase involves the construction of residential buildings.

The project will include the construction of a 47,800m2 of non-residential space, academic buildings, administration buildings, a communication center, an international center, a dining hall, a faculty club, a school, a medical center, a sports center, a library, parking and other related facilities.

On September 20, 2016, Nalanda issued tender with submission due date as on October 20, 2016.

M. G. Contractors Private Ltd (MGCPL) has been appointed as the contractor for the construction of internal roads and water bodies.

Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC) Ltd has been awarded US$65 million contract for the construction of non-residential buildings on the university's main campus under the first phase.

MECON Ltd has been appointed as the project manager.

On March 2, 2017, construction on the first phase commenced and is scheduled to be completed by 2020.
