Summary
Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan (PHED) is undertaking the Lift Water Supply project in Rajasthan, India.

The project involves the construction of inlet facilities, pump houses, reservoirs filter plant, pipeline systems, electrical and instrumentation, road construction for bypasses and storage tanks, the installation of valves and other safety systems.

The project will be implemented in three phases. The first phase will cover 502 villages and to be implemented in two packages, while the second phase will cover eight towns and 851 villages.

Pratibha Industries Ltd has been appointed as design consultant for the surge protection system.

Voyants Solutions Pvt. Ltd has been awarded the design and construction supervision consultancy services contract to undertake master plan and detailed engineering works for second package of first phase of the project.

KazStroyService has been awarded US$31.58 million EPC contract for the package four of first phase. The scope of work includes the construction of cluster distribution network, IEC activities, pump houses, clear water reservoirs, overhead service reservoirs and 33kV Switchyards village distribution network for 176 villages and Merta town.

PDCOR Limited (PDCOR) has been appointed as study consultant.

Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is providing funds for the development of the project.

L&T Construction has been appointed as contractor for the second phase. The scope of work includes the construction of a 5,310 million litre raw water reservoir, a 250 million liters per day water treatment plant and raw water and clear water pumping stations, the installation of electro-mechanical and instrumentations, and the laying of mild steel and ductile iron pipelines.

The Union Government will provide US$63 million funding under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme. The State government will provide US$74 million funding for the project.

The construction work on first package of first phase was completed in January 2012, which was undertaken by Pratibha Industries.

In June 2011, Ramky Group was appointed to undertake the construction of water distribution network and 33KV switchyards for the second package of first phase.

In December 2011, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency revised its financial assistance to US$406 million from the earlier US$328 million funding for the project.

In October 2015, construction work on the first phase completed.

Construction works are underway and will be completed by 2019.
