Summary
PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) plans to undertake the construction of the Kaltim V Coal-fired steam power plant project in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The project involves the construction of a 200MW (2x100MW) coal-fired steam power plant. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, coal storage tanks, combustion chambers, steam generating units, pipeline infrastructure, cooling towers and chimneys, the installation of turbines, generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.

On October 6, 2017, PLN signed a Power Purchase Agreement with its subsidiary, PT Indonesia Power (IP). However, PPA agreement will be effective only after April 6, 2018.

IP will manage the project based on direct appointment by PLN.

IP is in the process of seeking approval from PLN to partner with PT Adaro Energy Tbk for the implementation of the project. IP is expected to hold 51% and Adaro Energy 49% stakes in the project.

The entire project is expected to be completed by 2021.
