The project involves the construction of a 300-room five-star resort hotel. It features swimming pools, a spa, restaurants, a recreation center, a banquet hall, parking facilities and a bar, and installation of safety systems.

In 2010, Shangri-La signed a heads of agreement with TDR to form a 49:51 percent joint venture to develop the resort.

On December 8, 2010, Camco South East Asia Ltd was appointed as the study contractor.

In March 2014, Shangri-La moved out of the project due to land related issues.
