Summary
Bradford Metropolitan District Council (BMDC) and Urbo Regeneration Ltd (Urbo), subsidiary of Bolsterstone Group Plc, are undertaking to build a residential community between Bradford and Shipley in West Yorkshire, the UK.

The project involves the construction of residential community comprising 1,145 homes on 30ha of land. It includes the construction of shopping facilities, primary school, health center, sports facilities, leisure facilities, parking spaces and related facilities, and the installation of safety systems.

The project is developed in stages.

The first stage includes the construction of residential community comprising 1,000 homes, the second stage includes the construction of 3,000m2 retail/commercial space for Local Centre element and the third stage includes the construction of 145 homes. It also includes 18 four-bed, 107 three-bed and 20 two-bed homes, plus parking for 290 cars.

Canal Road Urban Village Ltd (CRUVL), a joint venture partnership created by Urbo and BMDC, has been awarded a contract to undertake design works and public consultation.

Skipton Properties Ltd has been appointed as the associate developer and Pegasus Group has been appointed as an architect and planner.

In 2013, construction works on 50 units of the first phase were commenced and completed by the end of 2014.

In the first quarter of 2015, Aldi food store, a part of the project granted planning consent for development.

In November 2015, the scheme was approved by the Bradford City Council (BCC) regulatory and appeals committee. Later in October 2016, BCC gave the official go-ahead by approving outline planning application submitted by Urbo.

Keepmoat Ltd has been appointed as the associate developer.

In September 2017, the third phase was recommended for approval by the planning committee.

On September 28, 2017, Keepmoat Homes have secured approval from the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council for 145 homes. Keepmoat is funding US$26 million for the initial phase.

Pre-construction are underway and expected to be completed in August 2018. Construction works are expected to be completed on an initial phase in 2021.
