The University of Tasmania (UTAS), City of Burnie(CoB), TasTAFE (TTE) and the Tasmanian Government (TTG) are planning to build a campus in Burnie, Tasmania, Australia.

The project involves the construction of research and teaching facility campus. It includes the construction of class rooms, dining hall, a library, parking and related facilities.

In May 2015, UTAS, CoB, TTE and TTG signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of the project.

UTAS, CoL, CoB, TTE and TTG pledged to fund US$112 million out of US$224 million towards Launceston and Burnie campuses and the remaining will be funded by federal government.

In March 2016, the UTAS appoints McBride Charles Ryan as the Master Planner.

The master plan includes two designs namely option A and option B. Option A involves adding an additional two stories onto the main building. Option B involves another building constructed along the waterfront. The extra space would be used for teaching, learning and research.

Based on the technical, educational, cultural, economic, environmental, and close community consultations, the UTAS preferred to choose Option B.

Option B, includes two stages, namely Stage 1 and Stage 2. In the Stage 1, main building is planned to be built and in the Stage 2 waterfront, teaching learning and research facility are planned to be built.
