About Biomass Boiler
A biomass boiler is used to generate heat or power from biomass, with less impact on the environment than conventional fuel. Heating and cooling account for almost half of the world's energy consumption. This requirement is fulfilled using conventional sources such as electricity, which is generated from fossil fuels. Power generation from fossil fuels results in the emission of a large amount of CO2, negatively affecting the environment.
Biomass has proven to be highly efficient in controlling carbon emissions; it produces 60%-80% less carbon emissions compared to conventional fuels. Many countries globally are, therefore, encouraging the use of biomass by providing incentives and grants. In the UK, the government provides incentives to consumers who use biomass for heating. This has increased the sales and installation of biomass boilers. Around 45 countries have set targets for renewables heating and cooling, and 21 countries have specific renewable heating mandates at the national or state/provincial level to use renewable energy sources such as solar and biomass.
