A vascular stent is a mesh-like tube of thin wires developed using stainless steel or alloys. The device helps prevent arterial blockages that may occur in people who have undergone angioplasty. Physicians use drug-eluting stents, bare metal stents, bioabsorbable stents, or peripheral vascular stents to prevent arteries from narrowing or clogging.
