X-ray security screening is a method that uses X-ray radiation to screen people and products for detection of explosives, weapons, drugs, and chemicals. This type of detection systems is used in airports, defense, banks, shopping complexes, and hotels. X-rays are electromagnetic radiations that has the capability to pass through different levels of an object. As X-rays can scan and detect an object inside baggage and underneath person's clothing, it is highly adopted in airports. X-ray security screening systems use X-ray radiation in the form of metal detector, backscatter, millimeter wave technology, trace detector, and checkpoint. The radiation used in these systems alerts the security officers about the presence of prohibited or illegal items. This system is widely adopted by some of the major sectors such as Transit, Government, Commercial, Healthcare, and Education.
