With the increasing trend and popularity of sci-fi movies the digital age of cinema is adopting more advanced technologies. Not only the movies, but also the movie theaters are striving towards providing the viewers with a remarkable experience of watching a movie.

The National Association of Theater Owners (NATO) released technological requirements to develop HDR (High Dynamic Range) projection systems for the movie theaters. The news technology has gained a lot of attention from many filmmakers and cinematographers. It would be a visual treat for the movie lovers with an impeccable brightness quality on the screen and showcasing a wide range of colors form the darkest blacks to the brightest whites.

NATO believes in identifying and emphasizing on the adoption of the new technologies into the theaters. "It is critical that there not be multiple proprietary solutions for theaters, It is essential that a theater that selects one class of HDR or lasers be able to play all movies that are released in this class of new technologies. We also recognize the complexities of mastering to multiple target systems and the added complexity of distribution of multiple masters. We also believe it is time to define standards for new 2D and 3D projectors," NATO said in a statement.

Research Beam's report on "Global Cinematographic Projector and Camera Market to 2018 - Market Size, Growth, and Forecasts in Nearly 60 Countries" would help the market investors and businesses dealing with the manufacturing and production of cinematographic projector and cameras to understand the market dynamics in 60 countries across the globe.

The technology is developed by the NATO's technology committee and technical consultant Jerry Pierce. NATO has also requested the equipment vendors and standard bodies to work together in order to provide no more than 4 open standards for HDR i.e. 2 for 2D and 2 for 3D along with maximum brightness from 14 to 30 fL (foot lambert) and 10 to 14 fL respectively. It would help the creative community to adjust the brightness levels depending on the individual's artistic needs.
