Summary
The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) is undertaking the New Central Bank of Iraq Headquarters project in Iraq.
The project involves the construction of a 93,000m2, 162m high, 37-story office building.
It includes the construction of office blocks, meeting rooms, conference facilities, food court area and infrastructure related facilities, and the installation of ATM machines, electrical and mechanical systems, elevators, fire safety and security system.
In January 2012, Zaha Hadid Architects, Assemblage with Buro Happold, Davis Langdon, Iraqi firm Al-Khan in collaboration with Canada’s Adamson and Dewan Architects & Engineers were shortlisted as design consultants.
In February 2012, Zaha Hadid Architects was appointed as a design consultant.
CBI appointed Davis Langdon as the cost engineering consultant, AKT II as the structural engineer, Dijlah Consulting Engineering as architect, Max Fordham LLP as the engineering design consultant, AECOM Ltd as planner, Newtecnic as facade consultant, Exova Warringtonfire as fire protection consultant, Gross Max as landscape architect, Event Communications and Keith Winton Design as design consultants, ARUP Security as security consultant and A2 Project Management as civil engineer.
Daax Construction MMC has been appointed as the main contractor and proCS as Project manager.
In January 2018, construction activities commenced and are underway with completion scheduled by December 2021
