The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) of Maharashtra Ltd is planning to undertake the upgrade of a highway in Maharashtra, India.

The project involves the construction of a 33.8km long road from Airoli to Badlapur via Katai Naka. The project is planned to be executed in three phases.

The first phase will include the construction of a 12km road from Airoli Bridge to Katai Naka and 1.7km Parsik Hill tunnel, the second phase will include the construction of an 18.8km road from Katai Naka to Badlapur and the third phase will include the construction of a 3km road from Eastern Express Highway to Airoli.

The project also includes the construction of a 1.5km long tunnel between Thane and Panvel creeks and the highway corridor will have three lanes on each side.



Lea Associates has been appointed as transport study consultant.

In September 2015, CIDCO has floated tenders to appoint environment consultant for 1.7-km Parsik Hill tunnel.

In September 2016, CIDCO has issued tender to appoint construction contractor for the first phase of the project.

In October 2016, CIDCO awaiting necessary forest clearances.
