Summary
EMCO Energy Zambia Ltd (EMCO) is planning to undertake the construction of a power plant in Zambia.
The project involves the construction of a 600MW (2X300) coal-fired power plant on 250ha of land.
The construction of the project will be undertaken in two phases. The first phase involves the construction of a 300MW thermal power facility and the second phase involves the construction of a second 300MW thermal power facility.
The preparatory phase will include survey of project site including the water supply pipeline route, detailed engineering designs, land clearing over 250ha for construction of plant and other facilities, tendering and contracting.
In September 2014, EMCO signed a power purchase agreement with Zambian state utility Zesco.
In October 2015, EMCO is in the process of finalizing power purchase agreements.
