Summary
The Vietnam Electricity (EVN) along with National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), is undertaking the construction of a Thai Binh Power Transmission Lines project in Vietnam.

The project involves the construction of a 30km long 220kV transmission line. It includes the construction of a substation and other related facilities, and the installation of transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.

The ODA loan is being used for procurement of goods and civil works related to the construction of the power plant.

The project is funded by the Japan Bank, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and Ordinary Capital Resources.

EVNNPT is the execution agency, as well as operational and maintenance company for the project.

In the first quarter of 2011, construction works commenced.

In January 2015, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed an agreement with the Vietnamese Government for Japan’s ODA loan of US$300 million for the project.

In May 2016, Government of Vietnam (GoV) approved a official development assistance (ODA) loan agreement between the home government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the project.

Under the terms, Ministry of Finance, Vietnam, received authorization from GoV towards the signing of the agreement with JICA.
