Georgian International Energy Corporation (GIG) is planning to construct a hydroelectric power plant project in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Western Georgia, Georgia.

The project involves the construction of a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 60MW. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and access roads, the installation of turbines, generators, and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.

Electricity System Commercial Operator (ESCO) has been appointed as an associate developer.

In January 2010, GIG received approval from Georgian Ministry of Energy to build the project.

In March 2013, the project was put on hold due to political issues.

On August 20, 2015, GIG signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Georgian Government and ESCO for the development.

The project will be financed by Iran's Bank Towse-e Saderat (Export Development Bank of Iran).

On January 27, 2016, GIG signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with ESCO.

As of March 2018, feasibility studies are underway.
