Institute for Basic Science (IBS) is undertaking the construction of an academic complex in Daejeon, South Korea.

The project involves the construction of 106,592m2 academic complex comprising seven-story buildings.

It includes the construction of cultural facilities, restaurants and convention centers, an office space, a public plaza, parking and related facilities.

In November 2014, Samoo Architects & Engineers Company (Samoo) announced its selection as the architect for the project. Under the terms, Samoo, along with HAEAHN Architecture and HHM Architects & Engineers, will contribute towards the design of the project.

On December 29, 2015, IBS solicited bids for the construction of the project, with April 5, 2016, as the submission deadline.

On May 24, 2016, Kyeryong Construction was appointed as construction contractor.

On June 29, 2016, construction works were commenced and are underway.
