National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is planning to undertake the upgrade of highway section in Maharashtra, India.

The project involves the upgrade of highway paving a total length of 128km in three packages.

Package 1 includes the upgrade of 42.9km highway, package 2 is of 39.5km and the package 3 is of 46.5km.

It includes the construction of a six-lane road, supporting walls, carriageways, service roads, road separators, pedestrian ways and toll stations, and the installation of signaling systems.

In the first quarter of 2010, NHAI completed the feasibility study for the proposed road section and filed an application with the government to get necessary funding and approvals.

In August 2013, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd invited tenders for the project with a submission deadline of January 21, 2014. However, the tender process was terminated.

In November 2015, The project received environmental clearances from the Union Environment and Forest Ministry.

On December 22, 2017, NHAI invited tenders for package 2 and 3 with the last submission date as March 5, 2018 and the opening date as March 6, 2018 with tender value as US$90 million and US$159 million respectively.

On January 31, 2018, NHAI invited tenders for package 1 with the last submission date as March 15, 2018 and the opening date as March 16, 2018 with tender value as US$136 million.
