Summary
Societe d’Amenagement et de Developpement de Mazagan S.A (SAEDM) a subsidiary of Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP) Group in association with the Government of Morocco is developing the Mazagan Urban Pole new city project about 90 km south of Casablanca in Morocco.
The project involves the construction of an integrated urban city on a 1,300ha. It includes the construction of a research, development and innovation center in the sectors of chemistry, biochemistry and agribusiness, an academic and training center, a business incubator, tourist center, a convention center, an exhibition center, a handicraft village, tertiary activities area, residential facilities to accommodate 134,000 population by 2034, a shopping center on a 59,000m2 area, access roads and parking facilities.
The project is being developed in four phases (phase A, B, C, D) between 2013 and 2034.
In the third quarter of 2014, CDVIA was appointed as a traffic study consultant.
On January 26, 2015, the environmental impact study contract was awarded to Phenixa.
In the first quarter of 2015, the environmental study activities commenced.
In the first quarter of 2015, the geotechnical study contract was awarded to Laboratoire Public d'Essais et d'Etudes (LPEE).
Kilo Architecture has been appointed as a design consultant.
Phase D, it is located near the international exhibition park belonging to the Royal Society for the encouragement of the horse (SOREC) inaugurated at the end of 2015.
In the second quarter of 2016, the study activities were completed for the face A.
On September 7, 2016, the OCP Group participated in CityScape Dubai real estate exhibition to present the project and especially looking for investment partners.
In the second quarter of 2017, SAEDM launched the construction works in phase A on the area of 200ha out of 1,300ha.
Construction activities are underway in phase A for roads and various networks and call for the expressions of interest for various works will be launched by the end of December 2017.
On March 16, 2018, SAEDM presented this project at the International Trade Fair of Real Estate Professionals "MIPIM" in Cannes, France.
SAEDM is preparing to launch the marketing of the priority segment of the urban pole of Mazagan (PUMA). In total, this part of the project covers 200 hectares and scheduled to complete by 2024 of nearly 4,000 residential units.
The priority segment of PUMA includes following:
Plots within the "Phase A" including residential, educational facilities (school, college, and high school) and the university as well as shops, offices, a hotel and village art.
Plots within the "Phase D" located near the international exhibition center, already operational. These will focus on the development of a Mazagan campus, including OCP group offices, a seat for Jesa, an office for Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and a business incubator.
