Summary
Alupar and Furnas are planning to undertake the construction of 204MW Energia dos Ventos wind form complex at the municipalities of Aracati and Fortim in Ceará, Brazil.

The project involves the construction of substations, powerhouses and access roads, the installation of turbines and wind towers, and the laying of transmission lines.

The project divided into ten wind parks Energia dos Ventos I (Goiabeira 19.2MW), Energia dos Ventos II (Ubatuba 12.6MW), Energia dos Ventos III (Santa Catarina 16MW ), Energia dos Ventos IV (Pitombeira 26.6 MW), Energia dos Ventos V (São Januário 19.2MW), Energia dos Ventos VI (Nossa Senhora de Fatima 28.8MW), Energia dos Ventos VII (Jandaia 28.8MW), Energia dos Ventos VIII (São Clemente 19.2MW), Energia dos Ventos IX (Jandaia I 19.2 MW) and Energia dos Ventos X (Ventos de Horizonte 14.4MW) with total power generation capacity of 204MW.

Alupar and Furnas won projects at the A-5 energy auction conducted by the Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (Aneel) in December 2011.

Earlier the German company Fuhrlander had been awarded for the supply of the wind turbines. The single turbine will have potential to generate power of 2.1MW.

In April 2014, Weg won the supply contract to provide 46 wind turbines for the Aracati wind complex. The company also provide the operation and maintenance services for 10 years.

In July 2014, Furnas planned to sell the stake of Energia dos Ventos I, II, III, IV and X wind farms (Complexo Aracati).

In November 2014, Alupar purchased the 99.99 % of stake in the Energia dos Ventos I, II, III, IV and X wind farms (Complexo Aracati).

In August 2015, Alupar sold Energia dos Ventos V, VI, VII, VIII and IX wind farms (Complexo Fortim) to Furnas Centrais Elétricas S.A.

Construction works of the Complexo Aracati have been completed.
