Summary
AWE- Arkona-Windpark-Entwicklungs GmbH (AWE) a subsidiary of E.ON Energy Projects GmbH and Statoil ASA (STL) are jointly undertaking the construction of an offshore wind power plant in Rugen region, Germany.

The project involves the construction of an offshore wind power plant with a generation capacity of 385MW, power houses, installation of 60 turbines with a capacity of between 6MW to 7MW each, the laying of transmission line, piling 79 boreholes with depths of up to 60m below the seabed and other related facilities.

In the year 2001, OECOS GmbH performed Environment Impact Assessment studies for the project and received environment approvals for project from the Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH) in the first quarter of 2006.

Fugro Consult GmbH has been appointed as geotechnical investigation.

In December 2011, Fugro Consult GmbH, has completed geotechnical studies, included 79 boreholes with depths of up to 60m below the seabed.

Planning implementation contract was awarded to Ed. Züblin AG and the general contract was awarded to Züblin Spezialtiefbau GmbH. AMBAU GmbH has been appointed as the piling contractor for the project

Grouting Contract was awarded to ITW Densit ApS, Foundation installation contract was awarded to DBB Salvage Dansk Bjergning og Bugssering A/S, Tower installation contract was awarded to A2SEA Deutschland GmbH, transition piece installation contract was awarded to DBB Jack-up Services A/S, MetOcean Equipment supplying contract was awarded to THALES instruments GmbH.

On April 28, 2016 Siemens awarded wind turbines supply, installation and commissioning contract for the project, and Nexans Deutschland GmbH was appointed as cable supply contractor for the project.

In April 2016, Statoil ASA acquired 50% stakes in the project.

In August 2016, the construction works commenced.
