Scope
The project involves the construction of a new 70km motorway between Sebes and Turda in Romania.

Summary
National Company for Motorways and National Roads in Romania (CNADNR) is undertaking the construction of Sebes-Turda Motorway project in Romania.

The project involves the construction of a new 70km motorway between Sebes and Turda. It will connect Motorway A1 to Motorway A3 following the Sebes route, further continuing to Turda and Targu Mures. The project is being developed in four lots.

The Lot I include the construction of 17km motorway from Sebes to Pârâul Iovului and the Lot II includes the construction of 24km motorway from Pârâul Iovului to municipiul Aiud.

The Lot III includes the construction of 12.45km motorway from Aiud to Decea and the Lot IV includes the construction of 16.3km motorway from Decea to Turda.

The project also includes the construction of sidewalls, bridges, the installation of traffic signals, safety and security systems.

In July 2013, CNADNR invited tenders for the project. The deadline for project completion is 70 months from the date of award.

In December 2013, SALINI Costruttori S.p.A. was awarded design-build contract for the construction of Lot I and the consortium of RCM Construzioni, Imob Lux Construct, Consinit, Societatea de Constructii Napoca, Impresa Ferrara S.N.C Di Angela & Rossella Ferrara, T Dancor RomConstruct, Shelter Construct, Associazione Cooperativa Muratori & Affini Ravenna, Schiavo & C and Eurocerad International has been appointed as the design-build contractor for Lot II of the project.

On April 16, 2014, Tirrena Scavi and Societa Italiana per Condotte d'Acqua were appointed as the design-build contractor for Lot III and PORR Construct - PORR Bau as the design-build contractor for Lot IV of the project.

In May 2014, the design works on the Lot III and Lot IV commenced.

On November 14, 2014, Impresa Pizzarotti & C SpA and Pomponio SRL were appointed as construction supervision contractor for Lot I and Aktor SA - Euro Construct Trading'98 SRL for Lot II.

The project is being funded by Cohesion Fund (85%) and the Romanian State (15%), through the Sectoral Operational Programme 'Transport'.

As of May 2017, 25% of construction works on Lot I, 27.4% on Lot II, 71.5% on Lot III and 66.3% on Lot IV were completed.

Construction works completed on Lot III in November 2017. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early 2019.
