Summary
The Department of Health, Philippines (DoH) is undertaking the expansion of a healthcare complex in Tacloban, Philippines.
The project involves the construction of a healthcare complex, diagnostic facilities, a pharmacy, a cancer center, a medical arts building, a training center, a research center, outpatient departments, surgery units, laboratories, storage units, emergency units, a maternal and child maternity center with 100 beds, a crematorium and parking facilities, and the installation of safety systems.
The Federal Government will fund US$38 million, US$7 million was granted from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) and US$5 million will be donated by the Bloomberry Cultural Foundation.
In September 2016, the project secured approval from the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
In the fourth quarter of 2016, construction works commenced.
Construction of maternal and child maternity center with 100 bed capacity was completed.
