Summary
General Electric (GE) is undertaking the construction of a gas engine manufacturing plant in Ontario, Canada.

The project involves the construction of a 41,806m2 gas engine manufacturing plant on 30ha of land for the production of GE Power's reciprocating gas engines, components for compression, mechanical drive, and power generation, and manufacture components for GE transportation diesel engines

It includes the construction of a warehouse, an administrative space, a production unit and related infrastructure, and the installation of related machinery.

The project received a conditional grant of US$20.5 million from the Ontario government.

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. has been selected as the principal contractor for the project along with CSO Architects in a joint venture with B+H Architects as architects, Entuitive / Thornton Tomasetti as structural consultant, H.H. Angus & Associates Ltd. as Mechanical/Electrical consultant, and Lea Consulting Ltd. for site services.

On August 26, 2016, construction works commenced.
