An outage management system (OMS) is a software system that is used to reduce the outage time and allocate the necessary resources for restoring power. OMS is combined with an interactive voice response (IVR) to which the customer calls to report an outage; the system infers the location of the caller. The data are sent to the OMS to map the outage across the geographical area and identify the assets and sections impacted by the outage.
