It also conducts midstream operations, which include supply, logistics, transportation, and wholesale marketing business. In addition, the company has a solution-mining and salt production company (US Salt). It provides wholesale supply and distribution services to propane operators in the US and Canada. The company is headquartered in Kansas City, the US.
Inergy intends to evolve into a pure play midstream business, as well as participate in the benefits of the propane business. To this end, it entered into an agreement to contribute its retail propane operations to Suburban Propane Partners, L.P., through which it would exit from the retail propane business.
