Summary
Milhaus Development LLC (Milhaus) is undertaking the construction of a mixed-use development in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the US.
The project involves the construction of a mixed-use complex comprising 625 residential units on 5.15ha of land. It includes the construction of retail space, a community center, townhouses, 700 parking spaces and related facilities.
The project will be developed in four phases.
The US$100 million first phase of the project includes the construction of 243 residential units, a 1,858m2 of retail space, a pedestrian walkway, Canteen Resident Lounge, Ammunition Fitness/Wellness Center, a courtyard with hammocks that serves as an outdoor entertainment area called the Fort, and Cannonball Deck and Pool. Arsenal Alley will connect Butler Street to a new public park and existing riverfront amenities.
The plans for the remaining three phases are not yet revealed.
Strada has been appointed as the architect and Rycon Construction Inc as the contractor for planning and preconstruction activities.
In January 2016, Milhaus acquired the project site from Arsenal Terminal Warehouse Inc for US$8.75 million.
On January 25, 2016, Milhaus outlined the project plans for the redevelopment of warehouse in the community meeting hosted by the Lawrenceville Corp. and Lawrenceville United.
On March 3, 2016, Milhaus presented the plans to the Zoning Board of Adjustment with conditional agreements.
In June 2016, Milhaus secured approvals for the proposed project.
On October 14, 2016, construction works commenced on first phase.
In August 2017, construction works on the first phase completed.
Design activities on other three phases are underway.
