Summary
The Ministry of Health (MoH) is undertaking the construction of a medical centre in Singapore.

The project involves the construction of a 12-story, 64,497m2 hospital building on 0.45ha of land. It includes the construction of 130 consultation rooms, waiting halls, laboratories, training unit for healthcare professionals, three level underground parking space and installation of medical equipment, electrical system, safety and security systems.

On February 2, 2014, MoH invited tenders for the construction contract.

A total of 11 companies took part in this tender, and finally 6 companies from Japan, Singapore and Australia were shortlisted, among them Kimly-Shimizu Joint Venture has been awarded the contract.

RDC Architects Pte Ltd and B+H Architects have been appointed as architect, Parsons Brinckerhoff Pte Ltd as environmental consultant, structural engineer, and MEP consultant, Mace Studio Pte Ltd as landscape architect and Arcadis - Langdon & Seah Singapore Pte Ltd as quantity surveyor.

Ngee Cheng Electric Co (Pte) Ltd has been appointed as electrical sub contractor, L & K Engineering Co. Ltd., ACMV specialist, Deluge Fire Protection (S.E.A.) Pte. Ltd, as fire protection consultant, Fattheng Construction Pte. Ltd, as plumbing, sanitary & gas specialist, Hexamine Sdn Bhd as medical equipment supply contractor, Son Heng Interiors Pte Ltd as interior fit-out sub-contractor.

Fujitec Singapore Corporation Ltd has been appointed as lift & escalator supply contractor, Stream Environment (S) Pte. Ltd, as pneumatic waste conveyance system specialist, Hetat Pte Ltd, as steel and facade specialist, LHL International Pte Ltd, as facade consultant, Fast Flow Singapore Pte Ltd, as siphonic rainwater management specialist, Ecogen Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, as softscape works & automatic irrigation specialist and Greenlite Electric Pte Ltd as earthing and lighting protection system specialist.

On August 29, 2014, a groundbreaking ceremony was held.

Shimizu Corporation engaged FINALCAD for its structural work (quality control) and architectural works (quality control and defect management) for the project. FINALCAD mobile app helps supervisors and engineers allocate more time on the field.

Construction works are nearing completion and are expected to be completed by March 2018.
