Summary
Ministry of Health (MoH) is undertaking the construction of a medical city in Al-Jouf, Saudi Arabia.

The project involves the construction of a medical city with 1,000 beds on a 200ha of land. The project is being implemented in two phases.

The first phase includes the construction of 500-bed main hospital and the second phase includes the construction of specialized hospitals with a total capacity of 500 beds.

The project includes the construction of an oncology center, a cardiac center, an ophthalmic hospital, a rehabilitative hospital, a neuroscience center, Administration & Conferences Hospital, and the City's residence.

In July 2012, the Zuhair Fayez Partnership was appointed as construction management contractor. The scope of the contract is to supervise the various stages of implementation and follow-up the quality of construction materials and ensure the quality of construction in general.

HDR has been appointed to provide architectural renderings and Hill International as project management consultant.. In August 2012, Al-Fouzan Trading & General Construction Co. was awarded the construction contract for the first phase.

In October 11, 2012, a foundation stone was laid for the project.

Al Bawani Co. Ltd, in a JV with Italian contracting giant Salini Impregilo S.p.A. has been appointed as the construction contractor.

Construction works are underway and scheduled to complete by the second quarter of 2018.
