Summary
The Ministry of Health, Oman (MoH) is planning to undertake the construction of a medical city complex in Al Fuleij area in Barka, Oman.
The project involves the construction of a 2,000-bed medical city on 500ha of land and is being implemented in phases.
The project includes the construction of a 225-bed general hospital with an investment of US$518 million, a 180-bed children’s hospital with an investment of US$466 million, a 100-bed rehabilitation center, a 100-bed organ transplant center, a 345-bed trauma and neuroscience center to replace existing hospital in poor location, 317-bed OPD and renal dialysis center and 245-beds Occupational Therapy (OT), Coronary care unit and central sterile services department (CSSD).
Each hospital building will be tendered as a separate package.
The project features the construction of centralized labs, teaching and conference facilities, general wards, operating theaters, a cafeteria, parking facilities and other related facilities, and the installation of medical equipment, safety and security systems.
