Summary
Global oil and gas production is expected to increase by 2.6% over the 2017 to 2021 outlook period. Total production outlook is expected to increase to more than 60,000 mmboe by 2021. However, the capex is expected to drop marginally during the outlook period. A sum of more than US$350 billion is expected to be spent as capex in 2021. Also, more than 400 planned and announced projects are expected to start production globally by 2021. Asia leads globally with the highest number of planned projects, followed by Africa and Europe.
