Summary
Naim Holdings Bhd (Naim) is undertaking the construction of Bintulu City Center project at old Bintulu Airport, Bintulu town, Sarawak, Malaysia.

The project involves the construction of a mixed-use complex on a 17ha of land. The project includes the construction of 139,354m2 retail facilities, 240 SOVO (Small Versatile Office) suites, 200 office suites, Permy Mall, 854 condominium units, two corporate office towers, one business hotel, a five-star hotel and other related facilities.

The project is being developed in phases.

The first phase of the project includes the construction of a three-story street mall, six-story SOVO suites, condominium units and a hotel with the street mall to be launched first.

The second phase includes the construction of a four-story shopping mall, two blocks of 25-story corporate office towers, 20-story office suites and a 16-story hotel.

The Permy Mall will be a two-story shopping mall with a gross floor area of 25,548m2 and a net let-able area of 14,214m2 spanning 34,115m2 with more than 1,000 car parking bays.

Permy Mall will house 105 retail shops, a food court and one supermarket. The main anchor tenant for Permy Mall will be Giant Supermarket who will take an area of 6,038m2 on the ground floor.

The third phase includes the construction of office facility.

SA Architects Sdn. Bhd. has been appointed as the architect. In February 2013, Naim launched the first phase of the project.

An in-house division of Naim is undertaking the construction work.

In January 2014, Naim signed a US$16 million contract with Sinohydro Corporation for the sub-structure works of the first phase of the project. The scope of work includes the construction of the lower ground RC podium structure comprising pile caps, upper ground slab, pipe sleeves, openings, pits and earthing works.

In June 2014, Naim launched the ‘The Peak’ condominium which recreates the skyline by being the tallest condo tower in Sarawak. The Peak is the paragon of the resort and chic urban living which offers an array of lifestyle facilities, from wellness-related facilities such as gym and adult and children pools to BBQ areas and function rooms.

In November 2015, the construction works on the street mall and SOVO of the first phase were completed.

Construction works on the project are underway and The Peak is expected to be completed by 2020.
