Summary
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is planning to undertake the construction of a toll road in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia.
The project involves the construction of a 26km toll road from Semarang to Demak. It will be developed in two sections.
The first section Semarang area includes the construction of a 3.5km toll road covers Genuk Subdistrict, consisting of Kelurahan Terboyo Wetan, Terboyo Kulon and Trimulyo.
The second section Demak Regency includes the construction of a 22.5km toll road covers four districts, namely Sayung Subdistrict which includes Desa Sriwulan, Bedono, Purwosari, Sidogemah, Sayung, Loireng, and Tambakroto.
The project includes the construction of interchanges, bridges, road intersections, service roads, culverts and related infrastructure, and the installation of signaling and safety systems.
In 2016, Indonesia Toll Road Authority (ITRA) issued a pre-qualification tender.
In November 2016, ITRA received two pre-qualification documents submitted by two consortiums consist of PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, and PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk and PT Waskita.
Two consortiums are granted prequalification of Semarang-Demak Toll Road Concession.
In May 2017, the project detail engineering design was completed.
In June 2017, the land acquisition for the first section was completed.
PUPR is in the process of issuing tenders for the construction contract.
