Summary
Reliance Power Limited (Rpower), a subsidiary of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) is undertaking the construction of the Vashpet Onshore Wind Farm project in Sangli District, Maharashtra, India.

The project involves the construction of a wind farm with the generation capacity of 400MW.The project is being developed in two phases.

The first phase includes the construction of 200MW wind farm and in the second phase the remaining 200MW plant will be developed.

It includes the construction of a powerhouse and substations, the installation of wind turbines, electric feeder system, converters, transformers and power controlling systems and wind turbine, and the laying of transmission lines.

The company has signed a power purchase agreement with the Maharashtra state electricity regulatory commission (MERC).

In July 2012, China Ming Yang Wind Power Group signed a contract to develop the project. As per the contract, the Chinese developer will handle project financing and engineering, procurement and construction.

In June 2013, the construction works on the 45MW plant have been completed.
