Summary
Six of October Development and Investment Company (SODIC) and Solidere International (SI) are jointly undertaking the construction of Eastown Mixed-Use project in Cairo, Egypt.

The project involves the construction of mixed-use facilities on 86ha of land. The three main developments are Eastown Residencies, Eastown Hub and Eastown Square. The project will be implemented in 10 phases.

The project will include the construction of 1,900 residential units, 1,000 anchor mall outlets, 300 high street outlets, 1,660 commercial units, entertainment facilities including cafes, cinemas, Town Center, Restaurants, Retail & Entertainment, Gardens, Playgrounds, Clubs, Sports facility, Waterpark, Spa, Health Center, Cinemas, hotels, underground parking facilities and other related facilities.

Allegria includes the construction of 1,043 villas, 32,000m2 clubhouse, golf course, parks, office, hotel, apartments, retail units, Commercial units, Institutional units, Townhouses, Residential units and related facilities.

Turner Construction has been appointed as the project manager, Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi & Sons as MEP consultant, Ginza Construction, Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi & Sons, SIAC Industrial Construction & Engineering and SBG-Al Marasem are the main contractors, Kamel Consultants & Research Group (KCRG), Michael Graves & Associates, Mack Architects are architects, Dar Al Handasah Nazih Taleb & Partners as consulting engineer, Shaker Consultancy Group as lead consultant, Arquitectonica as interior designer, EDAW, SITES International are landscape architects, Medhat Abouzeid Egyptian Consulting House, ABCG Consultant are lead consultants for Allegria project.

Kattameya Plaza includes the construction of 41 buildings, 658 apartments on 126,000m2 area, Community center, three swimming pools, Barbeque areas, gym, Clubhouse, Sports field, Leisure facilities, underground parking and related facilities.

Erga Group as an architect, Dar Al Handasah Nazih Taleb & Partners as consulting engineer, Intrade, Dar for Trading & Contracting are the main contractors, Dar for Trading & Contracting as MEP consultant for Kattameya Plaza.

Zone A & B West includes the construction of 235 villas, 106 townhouses, parking facilities, and related facilities.

In April 2007, Ginza Construction, Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi & Sons, SIAC Industrial Construction & Engineering are the main contractors for Zone A & B West.

EDAW, Arquitectonica are landscape architects, Michael Graves & Associates as an architect, Dar Al Handasah Nazih Taleb & Partners as consulting engineer, Kamel Consultants & Research Group (KCRG)

as lead consultant. Turner Construction as project manager, Ginza Construction, Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi & Sons, SIAC Industrial Construction & Engineering are the main contractors, SIAC Industrial Construction & Engineering as MEP consultant for Zone A & B West.

In October 2008, Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi & Sons, Ginza Construction, SIAC Industrial Construction & Engineering, SBG-Al Marasem have been appointed as construction contractors for Allegria Project.

Caesar includes the construction of 250 residential units on 15,000m2 area, Mosque, school, retail space, car parking facilities and related facilities.

Hassan Abouseda Architects as an architect, Redcon Construction as the main contractor and MEP consultant for Caesar.

Dar Al Handasah, Nabil Gholam Architects, Jacques Liger Belair & Jean Pierre Megarbane (AAA), Kevin Dash Architects, Fouad Menem, Machado and Silvetti Associates, Sahel Al Hiyari, The Jerde Partnership, and URBI have been appointed as design contractors, Raafat Miller Consulting as consulting engineer.

Mzech have been appointed as as design consultant, Sweett Group as cost consultant, Solidere International a project manager and MEP consultant.

In July 2010, Intrade, Squared, Dar for Trading & Contracting have been appointed as construction contractors for Kattameya Plaza.

In April 2011, Zone A & B West in Allegria Villas was completed.

In April 2012, Allegria project was completed.

In April 2013, Kattameya Plaza was completed.

In April 2014, SODIC signed a dispute settlement with the government over the project, after an agreement to pay US$129 million over seven years after the evaluation of the project.

In the third quarter of 2013, construction has commenced.
