Sowitec do Brasil Energias Alternativas is planning to build a 660MW wind energy power plant in Bahia, Brazil.
The project involves the construction of substations, transmission lines, powerhouses, wind towers and the installation of 220 wind turbines.
The project is also known as Tucano Wind Parque (Parque Eólico Tucano). The developers planned to install 220 wind turbines in different municipalities such as Tucano, Araci, Nova Soure, Biritinga, Sátiro Dias and Teofilândia. The development shall generate 660MW of energy.
Tucano I, Tucano II, Tucano III, Tucano IV, Tucano V, Tucano VI, and Tucano VII, Tucano VIII, Tucano IX, Tucano X shall be developed at the municipalities of Tucano and Biritinga in Bahia.
Wobben Windpower Industria is responsible for the supply of wind towers and construction work.
The project did not get approval in the A-6 2017 energy auction and the developers are planning to participate in the upcoming energy auctions.
