The project involves the construction of a 95km road from project A to project K. It includes the construction of lane roads, bridges and interchanges.

The development includes Project A, Project B, Project C, Project D, Project E, Project F, Project G, Project H, Project I, Project J and Project K.

Project A is from FM 2920 to Badtke Road and Williams Brothers Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a US$60.1 million contract in June 2015. Construction commenced in July 2015.

Project B is from Badtke Road to Bauer Road and Williams Brothers Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a US$33.4 million contract in May 2015. Construction commenced in June 2015.

Project C-2 is from Bauer Road to Mason Road and Williams Brothers Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a US$33.4 million contract in May 2015. Construction commenced in June 2015.

Project C-1 is from Mason Road to Mueschke Road and Williams Brothers Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a US$48.6 million contract in July 2014. Construction commenced in July 2014.

Project D is from Mueschke Road to Telge Road and Williams Brothers Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a US$85.2 million contract with construction commenced in February 2014 and is expected to be completed by 2018.

Project E is from Telge Road to Eldridge Parkway, SH 6/FM 1960 Interchange, and Williams Brothers Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a US$135.4 million contract with construction commenced in August 2013 and is expected to be completed by 2018.

Project F is from Eldridge Parkway to FM 529 and Zachry-Odebrecht Construction consortium and W.W. Webber, LLC was awarded a contract. Construction commenced in September 2013 and is expected to be completed by 2018.

Project G is from FM 529 to W. Little York, Beltway 8 Interchange and on September 26, 2012, W.W. Webber LLC was awarded a US$110.4 million contract and Zachry-Odebrecht Construction consortium was awarded as a contract on October 9, 2012. Construction commenced in March 2013 and is expected to be completed by 2018.

Project H is from W. Little York to Pinemont Drive and Tradeco Infraestructura, Inc. was awarded a US$153.3 million contract. Construction commenced in October 2013. In June 2015 the contract with Tradeco was terminated. Construction activities are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2018. W.W. Webber LLC was appointed as the new contractor on Us 290 by TxDOT.

The project-I is from Pinemont Drive to W. 34th Street and OHL USA, Inc. was awarded a US$142.8 million contract. Construction commenced in February 2014.

Project J-1 is I-610/US 290 Partial Interchange and on October 25, 2012, Williams Brothers Construction was awarded a US$107 million contract. Construction commenced in November 2012.

Project J-2 is from W. 34th Street to I-610 Interchange-Mainland and Williams Brothers Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a US$151.5 million contract in December 2013. Construction commenced in December 2013 and is expected to be completed by 2018.

Project K is I-610/US 290 Partial Interchange and on May 26, 2011, Williams Brothers Construction Company, Inc. was awarded a US$151.5 million contract. Construction commenced in June 2011.

In November 2009, the US 290 Program was awarded US$314.6 million from voter-approved Proposition 12, to advance design and construction activities to 2011 at the IH 610/US 290 interchange.

In April 2010, the Texas Transportation Commission approved approximately US$420 million in Category 2 funding for the US 290 Program through TxDOT’s Unified Transportation Program (UTP).

In October 2010, the Texas Transportation Commission awarded the US$140 million.

63% of construction activities completed on project A, 55% on project B, 62% on C-1, 72% on C-2, 46 % on Project E, 59% on F, 54% on H, 69%on I and 60% on J-2.

Construction activities completed on Project D, G, J-1 and K. Fitting and concrete shaping work on Project D, Painting and fitting works on Project G, and grinding and concrete pavement works on Project K are ongoing simultaneously.

The entire project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2019.
