Summary
Kiinteistoosakeyhtio Uusi Lastensairaala (Uusilastensairaala) is undertaking the construction of a children's hospital in Finland.

The project involves the construction of a 45,000m2, eight-story children's hospital complex. It includes the construction of 2,069 rooms with 12 operating rooms, anesthesia unit, a laboratory, an imaging room, an emergency room, an outpatient clinic, 16 intensive care units, 220 consultation/rehabilitation rooms, 118 wards, three inpatient wards, an Immuno suppression unit and parking facilities, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.

Arkkitehtitoimisto SARC Oy and Arkkitehtiryhmä Reino Koivula Oy have been appointed as architects, Poyry Finland Oy as HVAC consultant and Helsinki University Central Hospital will be responsible for operating the hospital for the project.

On March 6, 2013, Sweco PM Oy was appointed as PMC contractor.

On December 9, 2013, Granlund was appointed to provide electrical, telecommunications, ICT, security, fire and AV technology as well as lighting design services.

On January 15, 2014, Ramboll Finland Oy was appointed as structural and geotechnical engineer.

On June 18, 2014, SRV Group Plc was awarded US$110 million construction contract



Uusilastensairaala secured US$39 million for the project and US$4.3 million will be donated by Supercell. The Government and the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (Helsinki University Central Hospital) will contribute US$51 million, while the remaining will be funded through donations and US$64 million by loan.

On August 26, 2014, construction works commenced and are underway.

On March 30, 2017, topping out ceremony held on the project site.

For the installation of the user’s medical equipment, the first half of the hospital is scheduled to complete by November 2017. Entire project is scheduled to complete in June 2018.
